Buses and trams
Tickets can be purchased from ticket vending machines located at the main bus and tram stops. You can pay in cash (coins and notes - 10 PLN and 20 PLN) or by credit card in the ticket machines. Tickets can also be purchased at kiosks and sales points of ZTM Gdansk.
Buses and trams run regularly and with good frequency.
From the airport to the city centre, you can take bus number 110. The journey takes about 40 minutes.
Travelling with a bike? ZTM allows passengers to travel with bicycles based on a valid ticket. However, the bicycle itself is exempt from charges. It should be noted that the transport of bicycles is permitted in low-floor vehicles, provided it does not jeopardise traffic safety or passengers, a decision that rests with the driver. Therefore, if the driver deems that the vehicle is too crowded, he may refuse to transport the bicycle.
In Gdansk, actions have been undertaken for years to enhance the safety and comfort of pedestrians, including those with special needs, as well as to promote the use of sustainable transportation: bicycles, scooters, trams, buses, and the urban railway.
- special plates are being installed in many pedestrian crossings, public transport stops, tunnels, and other public spaces to aid the orientation and movement of blind and visually impaired individuals: guiding lines and attention fields
- tram and bus stops are systematically being equipped with passenger information systems – boards displaying information about the next departures. Some of these boards can enable voice announcements reading out the information
- most buses and trams in the city are equipped with ramps to facilitate wheelchair access, the ability for drivers to lower the floor level when stopping at a stop, voice announcements informing passengers of the current and upcoming stops, and a system for securing bicycles for safe transport.
